Throughtout the highlands, as this area
is referred to, an abudance of quaint and family run lodging
can be found. At this cool climate area, you can find
from the simple losmen to the nice cottages. You are welcome
to visit this area. The village called Tomohon or mostly
known as City of Flowers. Very interesting place for a
visit especially in the morning time to visit the local
market where they sale meat of dog, pig, bats, etc. |

You are welcome to visit Tangkoko Duasudara Nature Reserve.
This place is located in Batu Putih, Tangkoko. Special to see Crested Black Macaque and its distant
the Tarsius Spectrum ( the world smallest primate ). If
you are lucky you can see also the hornbill. From Manado
city, heading to the east around almost 2 hours by private car. |

One of the nice and easy place for a Trekking is Mahawu
Mountain. It is only 20 minutes away from Tomohon. If
you like to go there it is recommended to go in the morning
around 8 or 9 Am. It takes only 1 hour walking trip to
the top. Mahawu Mountain is safe to climb.There is another
interesting mountain called Lokon Mountain. This mountain is needed to stay overnight by camping at the top of mountain.. |

For a longer and more intense river experience, try
the multi-day expeditions on the grade 3-4 in North Sulawesi.
Although the river is navigable most of the year, conditions
are the best between November and March, when rapids build
and flow on for as long as 2km. The pristine forest surroundings
are spectacular and its common to see giant lizards and
other exotic wildlife. |
